All 82 Dorset Council seats will be up for election in May this year along with all town and parish councils across Dorset.
Dorset Council unitary authority replaced the district and county councils in 2019. Greens won four council seats on the new council in 2019 and added a fifth in a by-election in Lyme Regis and Charmouth in 2022.
This time around Dorset Green Party will be aiming to double the number of Green Councillors on Dorset Council from 5 to 10, and help to overturn the slim Conservative majority. Currently the Tories hold 41 out of the 82 seats. So they only need to lose one seat to lose their majority. The Green Party will work with other parties to take power away from the Conservatives.
