Keith has worked as a theatre manager, teacher of technical theatre, as a technical writer, in publishing and public relations.
Keith has worked with several voluntary organisations as a management member including a community theatre, and been a school governor.
He was a Bristol City councillor, (Labour), Easton Ward from 1990 -95 and the labour Parliamentary candidate in 2005 for North Dorset. Keith abandoned his almost whole life membership of the Labour Party when it went back on its environmental commitments.
Keith walks a bit, cycles sometimes, and for the last three years or so has been the local representative of The Open Spaces Society for north Dorset.
He is at present a Stourpaine Parish councillor.
