GREEN PARTY CANDIDATE FOR STALBRIDGE AND MARNHULL - RICHARD HARVEY

Stuart Martin is the Green Party candidate for Yetminster in the Dorset Council local elections on May 2nd

Richard has lived in Marnhull for twelve years. As a teacher of English, Film and Media Studies he has over twenty-five years’ experience. Wishing to maintain his passion for education since retirement, he became a governor and Vice Chair at Gillingham School. Richard was a senior examiner for the International Baccalaureate and was a magistrate of twenty years standing, chairing in both the criminal and family courts. Before teaching Richard had a career in the theatre, film and television. On retiring from teaching, he returned to acting appearing in “Doc Martin”, “Casualty” and more recently in a Dorset based film “Lawrence after Arabia.

For many years Richard was a member of the Labour party standing for them in a previous Local Election. However, a few years ago he left the party having been disillusioned with many of their policies, especially in education, access to the arts for young people and the broader communities, mental health support for young people, affordable local housing, and sustainable local transport.
