Val Graves will be one of the Green Party candidates for Rodwell and Wyke in Weymouth for the Dorset Council local elections on May 2nd 2024. She joins Clare Sutton and Claudia Webb on the ballot paper in this 3-seat ward. Please vote for all three Green candidates!
Val says "My work background is in the NHS which has given me an understanding of local issues and the ability to communicate and influence people and policy.
"Since stopping work I have been an active trustee and treasurer for Friends of Castle Cove Beach Charity ensuring continued access to our beautiful beach. As a local sea swimmer I take an active interest in the state of our sea water locally.
"I have supported primary school children in improving their reading and am an NHS Volunteer responder supporting people at home when required.
"If elected I believe I can contribute fully to the impact the Green Group has already made on Dorset Council to date. The Green Party represents a real future for our country and for the party locally.
"I believe strongly in supporting the democratic process for local people and representing local voices who may not always be heard both through policy and casework issues."
With a General Election looming, many residents will be considering whether to vote Labour, Conservative or Liberal Democrat. But it's a different story locally...
