Ken Huggins

Ken Huggins has lived in Dorset since 2008, and he has been a Parish Councillor since 2014.

Having persuaded his Parish Council to declare a Climate and Ecological Emergency in 2020, he established a Climate Working Group which has successfully decarbonised the village hall by replacing the oil-fired heating system with air source heat pumps.

In addition the hall has now been fitted with solar PV panels and battery storage, reducing the hall’s electricity cost and enabling the hall to earn an income from exporting electricity to the national grid.

Ken was also the Green Party Parliamentary candidate for North Dorset in 2019 and 2024.
