Volunteer in a local Green team

We’re working to build the foundations to get more Greens elected to Dorset Council in the next scheduled election in May 2029, and any promising by-elections that might occur sooner… and we need more help on the ground, now.

Could you deliver a bundle of our community newsletters, door-to-door, in the residential streets of any of:

  • Rodwell & Wyke Regis
  • Lyme Regis & Charmouth
  • Dorchester East

You can leaflet in your own time, so perhaps if you don’t live locally but you’re sometimes in one of those towns, or you can get there, you could still help.

It’s by letting residents know, by delivering regular newsletters, about the excellent local work of Greens all year round, plus salient bitesize news from the local corridors of power, that voters come to form an active and positive impression of the Green Party locally. Then and only then, voters will be open in sufficient numbers come election-time to ‘Vote Green’ messages, for us to win! And we know from all four of the Green General Election wins in 2024: viable future Green Parliamentary campaigns must be founded on a strong base of local council seats.

Come to a member meeting

Dorset Greens meet monthly (except August and December).

Meeting invites are sent to all paid-up members we have permission to contact. An events calendar can be found on the front page of this website. For further information about forthcoming meetings please email us.

Stand for Dorset Council or a town/parish council

We are seeking enthusiastic, committed and hard-working candidates and campaign managers to help prepare for the next council elections in their ward. The next full Dorset Council election, and town/parish council elections, will be in May 2029 – but preparing properly to strongly compete takes anything from 12-24+ months, and the earlier you start the better. Additionally by-elections can be called for a number of reasons at short notice, so we have to be prepared at all times!

Green Party candidates and senior organisers must be paid-up members of the Green Party and support its main aims and policies. We are particularly keen to ensure diversity amongst our candidates. A variety of training resources and peer support will be available.
