Everyone in the Green Party movement is today celebrating the largest advance in our 41-year history, as the number of Green MPs quadrupled to four. In rural Dorset, there were some pleasing advances in the Green vote, for candidates Ben Pantling (Mid Dorset & North Poole), Kelvin Clayton (West Dorset) and Ken Huggins (North Dorset).

Ken Huggins, Green Party Parliamentary candidate for North Dorset, has released his campaign video. Ken has lived in Dorset for 16 years, and he has been a Parish Councillor for the past 11 years. Having persuaded his Parish Council to declare a Climate and Ecological Emergency 4 years ago, he established a Climate Working Group which has successfully decarbonised the village hall by replacing the oil-fired heating system with air source heat pumps. In addition the hall has now been fitted with solar PV panels and battery storage, reducing the hall’s electricity cost and enabling the hall to earn an income from exporting electricity to the national grid.
