Castle Cove: Small steps in right direction

5 November 2015

In 2013 Clare submitted a petition of 2000 signatories to W&PBC asking them to work with relevant parties to restore safe public access to Castle Cove beach. Councillors overwhelmingly voted to take 'no further action'.

Since then Friends of Castle Cove (FCC) has been working tirelessly, receiving huge public support, to regain access to our wonderful local beach. Negotiations with landowners, renewed support from Councillors and a target to raise £10,000 by March 2016 to rebuild the steps are evidence of great progress. Clare said "Slowly but surely, we think we are getting there".

Clare has now stood down from the Committee to avoid any conflict of interest, but coordinated the summer ‘Beach Day’ which attracted 140 fearless fans! We'll keep you updated.
