Local elections round-up 8 May 2025 / 8 May 2025 by rich.ed123 In this year's local elections on May 1st there were no elections in Dorset. However there were 23 County Council elections across the rest of England mainly in Conservative held areas. The Green Party continued with its steady growth in councillor numbers. Greens made a net gain of 43 seats, taking our tally to 859 seats on 181 councils. The party held 38 seats, gained 48 and lost just 5. Read more »
Footpath near Rodwell Trail re-opened, after Cllrs Clare Sutton and Helen Toft work with Dorset Council 1 May 2025 / 13 May 2025 by chrishenderson A well-used route near the Rodwell Trail is once again open for use, following stabilisation of the surrounding bank and resurfacing. This restoration comes after a landslip and a fallen tree had left the path unusable. Dorset Council's highways team cleared vegetation and rubbish and rebuilt the bank along the footpath from Rylands Lane off Doncaster Road in Wyke. Read more »
